Maintenance and Care

Unfinished Hardwood Floor Grading Basics:
Select and Better
Almost clear. Most uniform color with limited small character marks
#1 Common
More markings than select and better:  Light and dark colors, knots and other character marks, including sticker stain, provide a variegated appearance. Often the common grades are selected because of their more natural appearance.
#2 Common
The most knots, imperfections, and color variations:  A natural more affordable floor that is full of character.  This is your choice if many character markings are desired.
The grade of hardwood you choose for your hardwood flooring project is a personal preference, and should be based on the desired look you want to achieve, as well as budget. Each grade has its own distinguished characteristics.
The days of a messy, dust-filled home following the refinishing of a hardwood floor are a thing of the past. Thanks to our Dust Containment Systems from Bona & Clarke. We use commercial grade oil & H20 finish by Bona and Dura Seal. These products will extend the life of your floor and are applied for high traffic.
