Luxury vinyl flooring, created with 3D printing technology, includes both tile (LVT) and planks (LVP). A wear layer is placed on top of a vinyl tile product, which gives the flooring depth and a realistic look as well as increased durability. Tile looks like stone while planks look like wood. Suttles Flooring is a luxury vinyl flooring retailer that serves the Macon, Georgia area, including Eatonton, Barnesville, Greensboro, Forsyth, Perry, Thomaston, and Warner Robins, as well as the Lake Oconee area. We can guide you through your flooring project, from decision-making to installation.
Wood-look planks are made of all vinyl while stone-look tile sometimes has a base that contains minerals like limestone. Plank and tile thickness ranges from 10mm to 12mm, or about 1/8". Regular vinyl flooring is much thinner. The cheapest tiles have a thickness of 1.2 mm. Look for LVT and LVP by industry leaders such as Armstrong, Shaw, Mannington, Burke, and Mohawk. This type of flooring has many advantages beyond its attractive appearance:
- Extremely resistant to dents, stains, and scratches
- Easy to change room design in future years
- Some brands feature built-in soundproofing
- Less expensive than real wood or stone
- Easy to repair an individual tile or plank
- Low maintenance, easy to clean
- Water-resistant
